Steering stop limiter. Saves dented tanks and broken fingers.
Steering stops. Often the first thing to fail in a decent bingle. then your forks go all the way round till they hit your frame. Or trap your hands and fingers between bars and tank. OWch.
Also, snapped lock stops is often enough to write your bike off. Or certainly hard to sell to the next person who notices they're missing. or repaired.
In an emergency, it protects the tank and the frame in the area of the steering head from major damage in the event of a falling over, crash or accident. More importantly, it also protects your hands and arms from being trapped. We are talking about the steering stop.
An often small, inconspicuous metal block that determines the maximum angle of the steering head. Actually a sensible thing. If there were not one serious point: the welded or forged, often undersized stops are often bent or even torn off when force impacts, which inevitably results in being written off because the frames rooted.
